I have always been involved in art. My father is a successful artist and early on I was trained in traditional techniques of drawing and watercolors. However something was missing. After a workshop in mixed media expression, I became hooked on the exciting area of experimental art. But it took the sudden and unexpected loss of 6 loved ones in an 18 month period that propelled me to reevaluate my purpose in life. When my best friend passed away from pancreatic cancer, I made a promise that somehow I would find a way to use my art to bring attention to this dreadful cancer. It is in her honor that I paint with passion, joy, and gratitude for this wonderful gift of purpose. I try to reflect this in every piece I create.
