The History of Genealogy

Genealogy has been around for millennia. Certified Genealogist Craig Roberts Scott will walk us through the evolution of the field from Roman times through today. Over centuries of genealogists working with varying agendas, to the recent creation of genealogical societies, genealogical standards and peer-reviewed journals, the world of genealogy has changed–and so have the agendas.

Monthly meetings start with social time, followed by the Martin County Genealogical Society business meeting. Presentations start at 2 p.m. or a little before.

Admission is free and open to the public.
