A Journey from the East to the West
Via PPT presentation, I will discuss the development of my creative career as an artist and educator, as well as my life experiences, from a labor camp to the high educational institution, from a traditional Eastern cultural background to the contemporary Western environment, from the pleasure of fulfilling an American dream to the struggle of facing challenges as a diaspora.
Meet the Juror
Kirk Ke Wang, Professor of Visual Arts of Eckerd College and a Board Director of the Ringling Museum of Art, is a painter, sculptor, photographer, mixed media artist, as well as an educational software developer. He was born in Shanghai, China, and received MFA degrees from the Nanjing Normal University in China and University of South Florida. Mr. Wang maintains a studio in Tampa and NYC, and he often travels back to his hometown, Shanghai. To learn more about the juror visit: http://www.kirkkewang.com/
