Artist Relief Fund

Thank you for caring about artists in Martin County. Your generous gift support to the Artist Relief Fund make a tremendous impact during an incredibly challenging time!

Because of you and people like you, artists in our community had their financial burdens lightened during the ongoing COVID 19 crisis. In their applications, artists (musicians, painters, and others) outlined details about the cancelled events, art shows, workshops, and lessons that resulted from the shutdown coronavirus required. The musicians had future performances cancelled indefinitely. Teaching artists lost income from shutting down scheduled workshops with pre-paid lodging, supplies and airline tickets; while other artists had prepared new works for exhibitions that never came to be.

In total $8,815 was donated for the Artist Relief Fund, and at this moment there is a balance remaining of $3,045. Eleven artists have received grants totaling $5,770. Applications are still being accepted, since this crisis is far from over and Florida is also approaching the peak of hurricane season.

Grant Recipients

The Arts Foundation for Martin County is driven to secure the future of our community's arts and culture. As is the case across the country, arts organizations tend to be both under funded and under endowed. The ability to be resilient lies heavily on a strong balance sheet.

We, the Foundation, seek to be a part of securing a stronger future for our own programs but also for those across our cultural community. The outpouring of support is uplifting and in the future we know that you'll be there to help strengthen the sector as the needs arise.

Your gifts in support of our effort to secure the future of our community's cultural sector are greatly appreciated.
