Debuting in the of Fall 2015, with support from Marie Jureit-Beamish, Sunset Concerts at the Gallery features Martin County's most talented musicians in a unique and intimate setting that combines the fine and performing arts in one space. We are excited to announce that our Sunset Concert at the Gallery series will resume through June 2019.
2018-19 Performance Schedule:
October 9: “The Music of Michael Daugherty” The music of local composer Dr. Daugherty will be performed by many performers from this area, including: flutists Gabbi Small, Adriana Varn, the Gunter Family Trio, and pianist Addison McGee.
November 13: “The 2018 Contestants of the mARTies Awards” Come experience the extraordinary talent of this year’s mARTies Awards musicians celebrated at the 2018 mARTies Awards banquet held at the Kane Center in October.
December 11: “Blessings, Bernstein, and the Beatles!” Pianist Marie Jureit-Beamish, Professor Emerita of Music at Principia College and former Charles Stewart Harding Mott Distinguished Professor of Music, presents a concert highlighting spirited and uplifting music celebrating two of the most significant musicians of the twentieth century—American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein (1918-2018) and the revolutionary Beatles from England. You will recognize favorites from Bernstein’s West Side Story, On the Town, and Wonderful Town, as well as classic tunes from the Beatles, including: “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yesterday,” and “All You Need is Love,” to name but a few. Also on the program are inspired arrangements by Mark Hayes of three tunes glorifying God— “Come Christians, Join to Sing,” “All Creatures of Our God and King,” and concluding with a rousing version of “How Great Thou Art.” This is a concert of pure joy!
January 8: “Jureit Musicales: Pianist Lindsay Garritson” Soon to complete her doctorate from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, internationally recognized pianist Lindsay Garritson from Stuart, has soloed with orchestras around the world and has garnered impressive international reviews for her recent CD titled Lindsay Garritson Piano.
February 12: “Special Valentines Concert: The Treasure Coast Flute Choir”—Lindsay and Al Hager, Directors. Flutes of all sizes and shapes assemble for a memorable and rare opportunity to hear a choir of flutes perform a variety of music.
March 12: “Soprano Lorrianna Colozzo Sings Songs of Joy and Praise” Lorrianna sings with the voice of an angel and will warm your heart with the magic and purity of her expressive singing.
April 9: “Suzuki Lighthouse Strings” directed by Cynthia Hinkelman. Many young string players will share the joy of music in the spirit of founder Dr. Shinichi Suzuki who proclaimed in his seminal book, Nurtured by Love: The Classic Approach to Talent Education: “Perhaps it is music that will save the world.” These young people will inspire all of us!
May 14: “Young Artists of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony”—Tom Servinsky, Director. This concert highlights some of the most accomplished youthful instrumentalists of the Treasure Coast performing solos and ensembles.
June 11: “Stuart School of Music”—Cindy Kessler. Many outstanding young people study music throughout the year at the renowned Stuart School of Music where many instruments are taught by some of the finest artist teachers of the Treasure Coast.
