Be Squared - A Members Exhibition


The Arts Council of Martin County invites member artists to participate in “Be Squared – A Members Exhibition”. Works will be exhibited at the Court House Cultural Center from Friday, June 5 through Thursday, July 23, 2020.  Located in historic downtown Stuart, the Arts Council of Martin County has been a leader in the arts community since 1980. By providing services to visual and performing artists, arts organizations, students and the public, the Arts Council strives to inspire participation and passion for the arts in our community. The Arts Council provides various programs for the community including ArtsFest, The Court House Cultural Center Gallery and maintains an initiative to support arts education.

 

Important dates

Exhibit dates: June 5 – July 23, 2020

Submission deadline: May 24, 2020 OR until exhibit is at capacity

Delivery of artwork: June 1, 2020, 10AM – 2PM

Exhibition Opening Reception & Awards: Friday, June 5, 2020, 5:30 to 7PM

Pick up artwork: Friday, July 24, 2020, from 10AM to 2PM. The Arts Council will not be responsible for unclaimed artwork after this date.  Artist may send a representative for drop off or pick up but must have a letter signed by the artist authorizing them to submit and/or pick up artwork.

Want to exhibit your work? Here’s how!

Artist must be a current or new member of the Arts Council of Martin County.

$10 Entry fee for up to 3 works on a first come, first served basis, or until exhibition is at capacity.

2D and 3D original work in all media completed in the last 36 months and not previously exhibited at the Court House Cultural Center, The Elliott Museum, or any other local art exhibit within 50 miles.
Giclees will be accepted in photography only.

2D work: Square format up to 48” x 48” maximum (including frame). Must be properly framed with wire attached for hanging, using plexi-glass only, NO GLASS. Gallery wrapped canvases with finished edges are acceptable.  

3D work: Not to exceed 36" in any direction. Limited to 70 lbs maximum weight.

Artists submitting installation artwork must participate in its installation.

If you are displaying hand-crafted jewelry or other small items, you must provide your own display case.

Label back of each artwork with artist’s name, phone, email, title, medium, price and framed size (H__” x W__” x D__”) 

 

Conditions

Artists are encouraged to price their work for sale.  Commission is 25% to the Arts Council and 75% to the artist. Artist can choose to donate all proceeds to the Arts Council’s programs.

No withdrawals of work permitted before the close of the exhibition.

The Arts Council reserves the right to refuse an artwork if the work is improperly framed, wired, misrepresented by the submitted digital image, and/or any other reason.

The Arts Council reserves the right to use any accepted image for promotional purposes.
