Alessandro Anzalone

Dr. Alessandro (Alex) Anzalone, baritone, earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Experimental Politécnica in Venezuela, an M.S. in Chemical
Engineering from New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida. Dr. Anzalone also performed Postdoctoral Research at USF in Materials and Biomaterials. He has over 28 years of experience in teaching and administration in higher education at four different institutions. Dr. Anzalone has been Campus President, Dean of Associate in Science Programs, Chair of a Chemical Engineering Department, Founding Director of a Sponsored Research Office, and Program Manager for Engineering Technology. He has also been President of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Puerto Rico Chapter and standing Co-Chair of the Florida Engineering Technology Forum. He has taught over 36 different courses at the Associate, Bachelor and Master level, several industry courses, has participated in curricula reforms in various institutions, and is a member of several Boards, advisory committees and community organizations.
Dr. Anzalone received Hillsborough Community College’s 2020 Champions of Diversity Exemplary Administrator Award and Florida Advanced Technical Education Center’s Manufacturing Post‐Secondary Educator of the Year Award in 2013. He has made presentations and has collaborated with schools in Canada, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Chile, and Spain. He is currently Campus President for Martin County at Indian River State College, Vice-President of FL Contract Growers Inc., and an Opera singer. Alessandro Anzalone is married to his wonderful wife, Patricia, and they have an Eagle-scout son, Alessandro. He believes that all goals can be achieved with passion, hard work, strong collaboration, and support for your teammates. His mission in life is to help others and he has pursued this mission with even more passion since the beginning of his academic career.
