Alice Laputka

Alice Laputka is a representational and abstract artist specializing in pastels and mixed media acrylics. Her award winning paintings are defined by strong color and beautiful compositions.

Her background includes graphic design, television, animated film, and teaching. She has focused on fine art since 1994, when her pastels and water media paintings began to be accepted into national and international juried shows. Her paintings have won numerous awards and have been featured in Pastel Artist International, International Artist and The Pastel Journal as well as Art Journey Abstract Painting edited by Jamie Markle (2017), Rockport Publishers’ The Best of Acrylic Painting, and several other books. The Pastel Journal published an eight page article on her work in their October 2012 issue and selected one of her paintings, Across the Valley for the cover.

Laputka has done editing and writing for the Pastel Society of America where she holds signature member status. She was inducted into the Master Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2011 and is a signature member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Knickerbocker Artists, the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and the Philadelphia Water Color Society. She has been represented by galleries in Taos and Santa Fe, NM; Scottsdale, AZ; San Antonio, TX, Estes Park, CO; and Cheyenne, WY.

Along with creating and displaying her own work, Laputka has taught teens and adults at the Visionary School of Arts in Stuart, Florida since 2013, and previously taught art to 7th through 12th grade students at MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, PA. She has developed her own unique methods for effectively teaching drawing, color, composition and creativity.
