Since a child I have always loved drawing and painting. Each year in school my artwork was chosen for the school’s archives. When I graduated high school I won their Art Award. My father, being a full-time writer and immigrant, advised me to pick a profession in which I could support myself. After receiving a Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from Columbia University in NYC, I became a scientist and professor at the University of Connecticut. However a major concentration for my research was visual; electron and light microscopy. I also became the Director of a Histology Facility. I published a book on Personalized Medicine in which I created all the illustrations. Now that I have retired from science, I can pursue my greatest love; art. Oil painting is my choice of medium.
