Romney Shelton Collins
Romney Shelton Collins is originally from Burke, Virginia, now spending winters in Stuart Fl. During the summer months she and her husband enjoy a historic home that they have restored, in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. She credits drawing courses at the College of Southern Maryland with spurring her interest in art.
Beginning in 1981, Romney began a two year study in oil with international artists, Robert and June Anderson, in Lewisburg, WV. The artist has taken workshops with acclaimed painter, Daniel E. Greene as well. She has conducted Continuing Adult Education classes in oil, through the Greenbrier Community College Center of Bluefield State, in Lewisburg, WV. The artist has also conducted six- week classes through the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department. She offers group and private lessons in oil on a regular basis.
The artist has been selected by the University of Charleston in Charleston, WV. as one of West Virginia's top one hundred women painters, with work in permanent display at the university.
