Nicki van Vonno
“I am a child of books. My mother taught me to read before I entered school. I also wrote stories. In spite of my high school English teacher, I went to college in English and theater, instead of library science. My specialty was Reader’s Theater. ‘The World Would Split Open’ was a piece I created about women’s role in society. Ironic, isn’t it?” Nicki has written Lamentations, a series of poems inspired by Holy Week in 2020. In StoryTails she plays with words. Ruby Shores is one of two novel she has in progress. She is on the Library Board of Directors in Stuart, a member of the Florida Writers Association, and recently judged over 20 pieces for their Annual Royal Palm Awards.
