“When I was four years old, I earned a scholarship to study piano at Florida State University.  I entered college as a piano performance major and then changed my studies to music education.  When I taught in Virginia, the state-adopted text for music education featured examples of visual art and poetry for each lesson.  I began to see how various forms of art inform and influence each other.  Moving to Martin County, I began taking painting lessons.  Since then, I’ve learned a range of media and techniques including printmaking, watercolor, oil painting, and sculpture using clay and concrete.”  Over the years Pam has found many ways to foster the arts within the Treasure Coast community, from providing private instruction to developing public outreach programming.  She says: “My way to ‘pay it forward’ is through teaching art in all forms wherever I have the opportunity, hoping to ignite in others the same passion for the arts that I so cherish.”
