Jodi Gaines
The Umbrella Effect
Acrylic and Oil on Canvas, 24"x20", $480
Inspired by long afternoons along Florida's shoreline, The Umbrella Affect celebrates the simple ritual of finding a place beneath an umbrella, listening to the gentle roll of the waves, and letting time fade into the background. Rich layers of blue and expressive brushwork create a peaceful coastal scene that feels both familiar and restorative.
About the Artist
Jodi Gaines is a Florida-based contemporary artist whose work explores the color, movement and character of the world around her. Growing up in the Florida Keys and spending much of her life along Florida’s coast, Gaines draws inspiration from the landscapes, wildlife and everyday moments that make the state distinctive.
Working primarily in acrylic, oil and mixed media, she combines expressive brushwork, layered texture and vibrant color in paintings that move between abstraction and recognizable form. Rather than simply recreating what she sees, Gaines is interested in capturing how a place or moment feels.
That perspective can be seen in The Umbrella Effect, where the familiar rhythm of umbrellas, sand and rolling waves becomes an invitation to slow down and settle into the easy pace of a day at the beach.
Gaines creates and exhibits her work from her gallery and studio in Stuart, Florida.
