Adventure into the Arts: Volunteer Today!
Thank you for your interest in serving as a MartinArts Volunteer. Volunteers are an integral part of the success of MartinArts operations and programming. Over 250+ volunteers each year contribute their time and talents in a variety of ways within the areas of guest relations, education, membership, events, outreach, and more. Our volunteers are a major force in fulfilling our mission to inspire participation and passion for the arts in our community.
MartinArts seeks volunteers from all backgrounds throughout the year as projects arise. We welcome students who require service hours for school and community members interested in sharing their love of art with others. A background in art is not required for many volunteer opportunities.
To get started, review the Volunteer descriptions below and sign up for an upcoming information session:
Court House Cultural Center
Gallery Docent volunteers greet visitors at the Court House Cultural Center Gallery, monitoring guest activity in the galleries, help them learn about more about MartinArts and the arts community, and create a friendly and inviting atmosphere. During downtime, volunteers may be asked to assist with basic administrative tasks.
Events & Programs
CHCC Gallery Receptions
Receptions volunteers are needed for various duties before, during, and after receptions. This includes but is not limited to serving food and beverages, collecting admission fees, signing in guests, moving tables or chairs, distributing printed materials, and more.
A two-day celebration of the arts held in historic downtown Stuart. Volunteers are needed for the steering committee which plans the event. Volunteers are also needed the day of the event and have a host of responsibilities from serving as an ambassador for artists & patrons to ticket selling.
Held for the first time in November 2003, this event showcases and honors artists, community leaders, and businesses who are responsible for the success of the arts in our community. Committee members solicit sponsorship, assist with the nomination and selection process, video production, coordinate the "stage show", and have other duties related to producing this special event.

Arts in Education
High School Junior and Senior art students are invited to participate in an “Plein Air Arts Day”. Students are immersed in their mediums for approximately 5 hours under some of Martin County’s most talented artists. Volunteers are needed to support Arts Day. Responsibilities for those volunteers are serving as assistants to the instructors and helping with registration and delivery of beverages and lunch.
Marvin S. Cone Annual High School Juried Art Show
This annual exhibition features the fine work of local high school students. Volunteers help plan the opening reception, assist with sponsorship, and coordinate with teachers and the school district.
Volunteers are needed in our office to assist with basic functions including filing, data processing, mailing campaigns, and other administrative related tasks.
Marketing Ambassadors will help by actively promoting MartinArts and its events. This can include using your social media in collaboration with ours, distributing our physical marketing materials around the county, connecting with people you know in the community, and more.
