About the Artist
Charles’ appreciation and, ultimately, love of art began while attending UC Berkeley in the 1970’s; a great place to nurture one’s creative side. Unfortunately, obligations, both career and family, suppressed the inner artist from emerging until much later. After retiring, he needed only one Winter on Hutchinson Island to fall in love with the natural beauty of Florida. He developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the ocean and tropical flora and fauna and thus began his artistic journey. He moved permanently to Palm City later that year with a desire to capture that beauty on canvas. Charles enjoys painting all things tropical: beachscapes, landscapes, marine life, and flowers.
