About the Artist
Originally from Jamaica in the West Indies I graduated from the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida. I started my studio work in Wilton Manors FL specializing in watercolors of thoroughbred racehorses. Calder Racetrack in Miami Gardens FL provided opportunities to photograph finish-line winners and the owners who bought my work. Secretarial and Seattle Slew were two of the most famous thoroughbreds I painted. I received the prestigious gold seal award for one of my charcoal rendering. During Jamaica's violent transition to independence my family moved out of the country. I spent a year touring Scotland & England painting watercolor landscapes before returning to Florida. The City of Stuart Utilities & Engineering Department commissioned me for numerous small town landmark paintings of Stuart to be enlarged and displayed on panels for rebranding their fleet during the mobile mural project. Being selected to display in The Arts For Living Calendar is one of the honors I have enjoyed over the years.
