Arts Service
Phyl relocated to Stuart in 1997 with a strong desire to become involved in the community through volunteer service. Having previously served as an usher at a local theatre before her move, she sought out opportunities at the Lyric Theatre. She quickly applied her organizational skills to create scheduling sheets and, eventually, a volunteer team system to support the theatre’s growing corps of volunteers.
Phyl’s role expanded over the years from Usher to Volunteer Coordinator and currently House Manager. Over the course of her tenure, the theatre became central to the performing arts in Stuart and played a leading role in preserving one of downtown Stuart’s historic landmarks.
When asked about how her involvement has impacted her life, without hesitation she responded, “Life would be so boring without the Arts”.
