Philanthropy in the Arts
In construction, the cornerstone is the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation. All other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure. To launch our initial campaign and propel the fundraising needed to complete the planning, a select group of donors stepped up and will be forever recognized as Cornerstones. In recognition for these leadership gifts to the project, their names will be permanently etched onto the corner of the renovated Stuart High School building.

These donors are being recognized with the philanthropy in the arts award in 2026 because of their strong vision, their commitment to transforming how Martin County’s arts community is seen. Through their support we have moved the needle in making plans to transform the historic Stuart High School with confidence needed. It’s an exciting moment where the foundation these donors have laid now will be the springboard for a significant transformation.
