“Early in my career as a mathematics teacher with a family and three children I had little time for other activities and my art interest was in the background. After I retired and returned home to Stuart, and about ten years ago, I took a short jewelry class, making a necklace and earrings. The seed was planted, and I decided to pursue wire wrapping. I have discovered I do not wish to be a cookie-cutter type of artist. I enjoy creating different patterns and objects. I like originality. I joined the Martin Artisans Guild where I have learned to appreciate many different forms of art. Art is an expression of who we are, who we wish to be, and how we see others.”
