Natalie Carter is home schooled. Her focus is on playing the piano and she is now learning music theory. She plans on majoring in musical therapy for mental health facilities, and possibly in a hospice setting. She says a musical therapy degree requires a foundation in primary instrumental lessons, ensembles, music theory, music history, and functional proficiency in secondary instruments. This musical therapy degree will prepare me for a career using music to improve patient health and outcomes, as well as overall well-being.
