To ensure that scholarships will always be a meaningful part of the MartinArts Awards experience for students, we launched a campaign in 2023 to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the “Marties.” This campaign will create an enduring source of funds to support students who excel in the visual, performing, and literary arts.
Each year, nominees are reviewed by a panel of accomplished artists and community leaders through a rigorous process that includes an application, artistic samples, and an interview. Those selected as recipients of a MartinArts Award currently receive a $1,000 scholarship—an award that recognizes their talent while helping them take the next step in their education and artistic journey.
The impact goes far beyond a single award. Research shows that students engaged in the arts perform better academically, develop stronger interpersonal skills, and grow the creativity that is increasingly sought after in every career field. Our alumni are living proof of that promise: Kevin Paul is starring on Broadway in The Outsiders, and Kevin Connor is building a career in New York City with the Tony Award–winning Hal Luftig Company. Their success stories began with early recognition and support from MartinArts, showing how an investment in young artists can open doors to extraordinary futures.
