Diane Raymond
After retiring from a fulfilling career as an art therapist, I came to live in Martin County 15 years ago. I have studied oil painting with several artists in the Stuart area over the years, and I have been inspired to paint the sights and scenes that make this area so special and delightful to live in. I especially love painting birds, animals and landscapes. I took a photo of the sunset on the river from a boat, as the dolphins were following and jumping in our wake. In this painting, I tried to capture the glorious colors of the sunset, and I used my “artistic license” to position the dolphins right in front of the setting sun. I hope this painting inspires others to love, respect, and help restore the St. Lucy River and the Indian River Lagoon and all the unique lifeforms that inhabit them.
