Jaime Schmidt
Jaime Schmidt is a ceramicist, painter, and mixed-media artist based in sunny Florida.
Jaime’s childhood was spent frolicking in the backyard of her family’s Michigan home, where she developed a deep love for nature, appreciation for wildlife, and an imaginative spirit. Her mother’s eclectic taste in home décor, particularly her collection of MacKenzie-Childs, ignited Jaime’s passion for vibrant, playful ceramics. Meanwhile, her father’s background in construction instilled a love for intricate craftsmanship and an artisanal approach to design, both of which remain central to her creative process today.
Jaime’s ceramics and artworks feature a kaleidoscope of color and hand-painted patterns and designs. Her work is infused with the essence of nature, optimism, and positivity, offering a window into her soul. She moves between loose, expressive brushstrokes and more detailed, realistic depiction within her pieces. Her whimsical style conveys joy and the delicate balance between abstraction and realism.
Since earning her degree from Florida State University in 2023, Jaime has participated in several craft shows, collaborated with other artists—including a ceramicist and a watercolorist—and has taught studio art classes.
Jaime hopes that her art can inspire, uplift, and even spark change, encouraging viewers to engage with the world in new, meaningful ways and appreciate the small, quiet moments that make life so beautiful.
