Katie Gianni
Katie Gianni is an award-winning, South Florida artist creating bold, intricate paintings using various types of ink and acrylic mediums on paper. Each one of her paintings are adorned with metal leaf or 24 kt gold leaf, with eclectic patterns, motifs and textures. Her work focuses on local and exotic wildlife, as well as colorful abstract pieces, still life and more. She is well known for her whimsical Blue-Footed Booby paintings that have quickly gained popularity. Katie’s original paintings can be found within homes, yachts, private planes, restaurants and commercial spaces, with clients and collectors all over North America, Europe and Australia.
Katie developed a passion for ink and printing while studying lithography and wood block in college. She graduated from Stockton University of New Jersey with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking. After moving to Florida in 2015 and no longer having access to a printing press, she began experimenting and painting with India ink to mimic block print styles and designs; incorporating metallics to embellish the subjects silhouette and features.
Katie spends most of her time creating in her private, at-home studio. When she’s not painting, you can find her at The Gilt Complex in downtown Stuart, Florida, where she works as a design consultant and fine art framer.
