Nadeshda "Nadia" Serenyi
Nadia’s professional art career covers a wide variety of experience, from a National Endowment for the Art’s Artist-in-Residence, managing a Soho gallery, participation in over 75 invitational, juried, solo & group exhibitions in America and abroad - to creating public art.
She has a MFA in Sculpture / Ceramics and creates artwork that metaphorically explores the juxtaposed themes of ‘form & function’ in nature, with ‘pattern & purpose’ in culture.
Three recent sculpture series: “Culture Totems” / “Slices of Life” / and “Life is a Box of Chocolates” are morphing into a new sculpture Series " The Waves".
A local for over 3 decades, her business Urban Camouflage Arts Company, provides a range of creative services in fashion, faux-finish, fine art & furniture, along with commercial and residential murals.
As chairperson of the Hobe Sound non-profit Landmark ARTS, Inc., “Creating Community Culture”, she is dedicated to promoting an enhanced community experience through the arts and spearheads the Hobe Sound Murals project - an initiative to enhance the area with an outdoor gallery of painted walls, honoring our rich history, current vitality and future promise.
The goal is to be a local signature offering, beautify specific areas, encourage positive networking among residents and native talent, promote an artistic & pedestrian lifestyle, as well as plant seeds for other community accomplishments and new cultural experiences in the future. The endeavor has been accomplished with the efforts of over 50 guest artists, contributions from community member participation, received grants from Woman Supporting the Arts, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, assistance from the county’s CRA “Facade Improvement & Creative Way-making” funds, won a mArties award and is included in the State of Florida’s Mural Trail.
To date, there are 28 Murals - with two more planned for 2026-27!
She is a mentoring member of a new Hobe Sound artist collaborative, "HoSo", formed in 2026.
Nadia is also Co-Chair of Member Engagement and Board Member of the nonprofit Impact100Martin - a philanthropic women's organization creating lasting change in our community through the collective giving of grants to local nonprofits.
