Sharon A. Ferina

My name is Sharon Ferina and I am a passionate watercolor artist! As I’ve grown and developed as a person, so too has my watercolor painting evolved. My inspiration has always been the same: both color and texture get my creative juices flowing. Although a later in life college course first introduced me to watercolors, my immediate love for this medium continues to this day.
I feel uplifted working from the unknown to the known, from within to without. Often starting a painting by simply splashing color and using various methods to create texture, I then study my “stART” until it speaks to me. And it always does! Sometimes it takes longer than others, but eventually a vision on how to finish this piece of emerging art becomes crystal clear. The combination of clear sparkling colors and enhancing creative techniques never fails to result in an unusual and distinctive piece of art.
The amazing opportunity to provide watercolor instruction for others was offered to me and I embraced it wholeheartedly. Teaching makes me happy and gives me the chance to ‘pay it forward’, something I truly believe in.
It is very satisfying for me to continually develop my work with new ideas and techniques. I’ve learned that the more I add other dimensions, the more it has stimulated my creativity and enriched my always fulfilling journey in the arts.
