Susan Klahne
Sue Klahne is a South Florida–based, ocean-inspired artist working primarily in acrylic and resin. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Graphic Design and previously worked as an Art Director for a local advertising agency. Sue credits her design background for influencing her bold use of color, clean composition, and contemporary aesthetic.
Much of her inspiration comes from travel—whether exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, cruising the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, or admiring the turquoise icebergs in Alaska. Living just miles from the ocean, Sue finds daily inspiration in the coastal flora and fauna of Florida. The many shades of blue found in the sea are woven throughout her body of work, particularly in her signature aerial ocean paint-ings that rival the beauty of Mother Nature herself.
An award-winning artist, Klahne works out of her home studio in Palm City, Florida. Her art has been exhibited in local galleries, businesses, museums, and numerous art festivals. She is also a regular par-ticipant in the annual Martin County Open Studio Tour and active in the local art community.
A passionate advocate for mental health awareness, Sue uses her art as a vehicle for healing and self-expression. Her paintings often reflect her emotional landscape—whether moments of joy, grief, or growth. Through her work, she hopes viewers experience the same sense of calm and serenity that cre-ative process affords her. Sue frequently donates her time, artwork, and a portion of her proceeds to nonprofits supporting mental health initiatives.
